Peptide Treatment
Tesamorelin
Choose a treatment option
Tesamorelin is a synthetic peptide analog of Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH). It is designed to stimulate the pituitary gland to synthesize and release the body’s natural growth hormone (GH) in a pulsatile manner. While a specific brand of Tesamorelin is FDA-approved for the reduction of excess abdominal fat in HIV-infected patients with lipodystrophy, its use in other clinical or wellness settings is considered off-label.
Check eligibilityTesamorelin is not FDA-approved to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, or for general anti-aging purposes.
Why it works
Key benefits
- Significant reduction in visceral (deep abdominal) adipose tissue
- Improved metabolic profiles and lipid levels
- Support for lean muscle mass and physical recovery
- Enhanced skin elasticity and potential improvements in sleep quality
Observed in clinical and wellness research. Note: Continued treatment is generally required to maintain fat-reduction benefits.*
Mechanism
How it works
Tesamorelin binds to GHRH receptors in the pituitary gland with high specificity. This stimulation triggers a natural "pulse" of growth hormone, which subsequently increases levels of Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1). Increased GH levels assist in lipolysis (the breakdown of fats), particularly visceral adipose tissue (deep abdominal fat), and support metabolic health and tissue repair.
Frequently asked questions
FAQs
Reductions in visceral fat are typically gradual. In clinical trials, significant changes were observed over 26 weeks. Some patients may notice initial improvements in energy or sleep within the first month. If treatment is stopped, abdominal fat levels typically return to their original state over several months.
Injection Site Reactions: Redness, itching, pain, or swelling Musculoskeletal: Joint pain, muscle aches, or stiffness Metabolic: Increases in blood sugar levels or fluid retention (swelling of hands/feet) General: Nausea, headache, or tingling sensations (paresthesia)

Informed Consent & Safety
Report any persistent joint pain, significant swelling, or signs of high blood sugar to your provider. Tesamorelin is contraindicated in patients with active malignancy, pregnancy, or known hypersensitivity to Mannitol. Patients with a history of cancer or diabetes must be monitored closely, as GH stimulation can affect cell growth and glucose metabolism.
